Terrains

As part of a team of curators, we branded and curated Maine College of Art’s 2021 BFA Thesis Show. Duties entailed creating a theme, corresponding logo, and art direction, as well as curating the floor plan of the show. “Terrains” is about celebrating the class of 2021 who continues to build new worlds through art.

Exhibition Statement

Terrains embodies the multitudinous ways of world building. By identifying our terrains we are able to create the most suitable environments for ourselves. This exhibition captures our individual perspectives of the world around us as we reflect on our relationships and experiences within our shared landscapes. We recognize that the work on display was created on the land of the Wabanaki, which includes the Maliseet, Micmac, Passamaquoddy and Penobscot Indigenious Nations, who have lived and have been making art for 13,000 years prior to the establishment of Maine College of Art.

Terrains showcases the creativity and proficiency of the BFA Class of 2021. In the midst of this global crisis, we celebrate each artist, designer, and maker who continues to build new worlds.
